Casa Croce
Because life is just like that…
Our offices are nestled in the Tuscan countryside, at the feet of the Vallombrosa mountains and a few hundred meters uphill from the Arno River. We have walls of books, a fireplace in the winter, and a creek to swim in during the summer. We also have more office pets than is normal.
Welcome to our world.
Streghina
Streghina means “little witch” in Italian. When Streghina first came into our lives, she was a flea-ridden feral kitten. We fed her out of our hands until she calmed down – and then she became the most remarkable cat. With the skills of a ninja, she proceeded to break into the homes of all the other cats in the neighborhood, terrorizing them and taking their food. We’ve seen this cat paint with water for fun. We’ve watched her terrorize dogs ten times her size. But now, alas, we mostly see her sleeping on the bed.
Scapegrace
Scapegrace is a mama’s boy, as is appropriate for any young Italian. He enjoys eating, lap-sitting, and play fighting with his brother.
baphomet
Baphomet is one of two brothers. He likes climbing, chewing, playing tag with Fairy. He loves hanging out in lounge chairs and enjoys eating and pooping.
cocoapuff
When the wind is blowing, you can hear it whistling through Cocaopuff’s little ears. Really, there is nothing going on inside there.
jezebel
Jezebel is a Rooster.
tiko
Tiko’s specialty is screaming during Zoom calls and Author Coaching sessions. He likes kisses, scratches, and chewing on literature.
calypso
Calypso is a desk cat. She doesn’t do much of anything around here.
fairy
Fairy is a good-enough girl. She loves the goats and frequently pees in the library.
puff
Puff is a large dog. He mostly lays under the table and farts.
